Children's Liturgy Every Sunday at the 9.30 Mass in the Church Room - All children are welcome.

First Communion preparation, after Sunday Mass, has now started.

Lord, in answer to our prayer give us patience in suffering hardships after the example of your Only-Begotten Son, who lives and reigns for ever and ever.

CAROL SERVICE - 3pm - SUNDAY 17th DECEMBER Our Choir will be giving a carol service followed by tea/coffee and mince pies (£1) Do come for the singing and stay for the refreshments and stay for a chat.

Prayer to Christ the King O Lord Jesus Christ, true God and true man, you died for our sins on the cross,
and rose again from death, and live and reign forever as our mediator and gracious King.
Graciously forgive us our sins, intercede for us poor sinners, make us righteous
and sanctify and reign in us with your Holy Spirit to bring us to eternal life.
Gather now your eternal church from every land.
Give us good government, and protect us from the power of the evil foe;
for you live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, forever and ever. Amen.

Thanks to all who donated to the Foodbank last weekend - it turned out to be one of the largest deliveries the parish has made. As well as the customary food and toiletries donations, Christmas treats for children are welcome. Please keep up the good work.

All my ways lie open to you for it was you who created my being, knitted me together in my mother's womb. I thank you for the wonder of my being, for the wonders of all your creation. O search me, God, and know my heart. O test me and know my thoughts. See that I follow not the wrong path and lead me in the path of eternal ife. From Psalm 138(139

O Jesus, King Who is the Beginning and the End, the Alpha and the Omega, Reign in our hearts. O Jesus, King Who has given us Mary, the Queen, to be our dear Mother, Reign in our hearts. O Jesus, King Who will come upon the clouds of Heaven with Power and Great Glory, Reign in our hearts.

Serving our Parish - financially - if we have the means, an example of this is by gift aiding your offering and allowing the parish to reclaim the tax you have paid, this involves no cost to you, forms are available in Church for this. Another way is by becoming a reader, server or member of the choir

NEXT SUNDAY 3RD DECEMBER FIRST SUNDAY OF ADVENT The season of Advent invites us to renew our desire for the return of Christ. 'Walk with Me' provides a 'Journey of Prayer' which many find helpful. Cardinal Vincent Nichols wrote, "Advent is a time of prayer. It invites us to focus on prayer. The beautiful contents of the publication help us to contemplate the two great mysteries of faith: the Incarnation and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ." Copies are available at the back of Church - donation £1

Today Jesus asks us to allow him to become our king. A king who, with his word, his example and his life, given on the cross, saved us from death, and, this king, indicates the path to those who are lost, gives new light to our existence marred by doubt, by fear and by everyday trials. But we must not forget that Jesus' kingdom is not of this world. He will give new meaning to our life ? at times even put us to difficult tests through our mistakes and our sins ? merely on the condition that we not follow the logics of this world and of its 'kings'. May the Virgin Mary help us to welcome Jesus as the king of our life and to spread his kingdom, by bearing witness to the truth which is love. Extract from a homily of Pope Francis

Our Lord Jesus Christ Universal King A - 26th November 2023

Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive divine power and wisdom and might and honour, His glory and his reign last for ever

First Reading: Ezekiel 34:11-12, 15-17

As for you, my sheep, I will judge between sheep and sheep.

I shall keep my sheep in view, rescue them from where they have been scattered.

I shall look for the lost one and be a true shepherd to them

Psalm 22 - Response

The Lord is my shepherd; there is nothing I shall want.

Second Reading: St Pau1 to the Corinthians 15:20-26, 28

He will hand over the Kingdom to God the Father, so that God may be all in all.

Christ has been raised from the dead - just as all men die in Adam, so all men will be brought to Christ.

Gospel Acclamation

Alleluia, Alleluia! Blessings on him who comes in the name of the Lord! Blessings on the coming kingdom of our father David. Alleluia!

Gospel Reading - Matthew 30

He will take his seat on the throne of glory he will separate men one from another.

Today's Gospel tells how Jesus separates people each other, he talks of giving food to the hungry, welcoming strangers, visiting those in prison.

When those who never fed the hungry, cared for the sick, never made Christ welcome,

asked Jesus about their failings, Jesus said,

Just as you failed to aid the least these, my creatures, you failed to do it to me.

Jesus said, 'And you will go away to eternal punishment, and the virtuous to eternal life.

PRAISE TO YOU, LORD JESUS CHRIST
