Prayer & Reflection

Gospel · John 6:51-58

Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ

Jesus declares, "I am the living bread that came down from heaven." He offers us not ordinary bread, but Himself - the Bread of Life that nourishes our souls and leads us to eternal life. Unlike the manna eaten by the Israelites in the desert, which sustained them only for a time, the Eucharist gives us a share in God's own life. When we receive the Body and Blood of Christ with faith and devotion, Jesus comes to dwell within us, strengthening us with His…

grace and love. Through Holy Communion, we become one with Christ and with one another. Nourished by this heavenly food, let us go forth and be Christ's living presence in the world.

Kingdom over Nation

Churches Together in England has developed a new resource entitled Kingdom over Nation, to help churches engage with the rise in Christian nationalism, and the growing challenges surrounding identity, discipleship, and public life. This resource has emerged from conversations across the ecumenical movement about discernment, division, political polarisation, and what it means to remain faithful to the Kingdom of God in this moment. Through eight Bible studies and theological reflections, Kingdom Over Nation explores themes of empire, justice, ideology, nationhood, discipleship, discernment and Christian witness.
